Brunei Shell Petroleum booked PV Drilling Semi Submersible for 6 Years Contract
PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) announced that, the contract with Brunei Shell Petroleum Company SDN BHD (BSP) has the duration of six years, plus two times of two year renewal options. Contract is expected to commence on st April, in Brunei Darussalam to support BSP drilling campaign. PV Drilling said this is the company’s longest-term drilling contract entered into so far. The company did not share the financial details of the contract. MODU Code compliant built PV DRILLING V is the 8th TAD in the world, is the latest generation of its kind with state-of-the-art technology and could be considered the most modern TAD Rig with the SSDT E HP design, built by Keppel in Singapore. In , the rig was used for the drilling campaign of Bien Dong POC at Hai Thach – Moc Tinh field in early with a total of drilling wells in deep water and offshore, with operating efficiency of over %. According to drilling contractor, this is the longest-term drilling contract PV Drilling has entered into. Shell and the Brunei government are : shareholders in Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad (BSP). BSP is the operator for the Block A concession (Shell interest .9%), which is under exploration and development, and are also operator for exploration Block Q (Shell interest %). Also, BSP is having % non-operating interest in the Block B concession, where gas and condensate are produced from the Maharaja Lela field. In February , the final investment decision was taken on the Maharaja Lela South development (Shell interest %). It is expected to deliver a total peak production of thousand boe per day. In addition, BSP have non-operating interests in deep-water exploration Block CA-2 (Shell interest .5%) and in exploration Block N (Shell interest %), both under PSCs.
